Going forward

Hello everyone. I know I haven’t done much in the way of writing these past few weeks. I’m either tired from work or depressed and it’s hard to motivate myself. I’ve done some work on a few stories, here and there, but nothing all that substantial.

Today was my first day off in a week and I managed to go through the posts in my November writing challenge and pick out some stories that I think I want to work on a little bit more, maybe even submit to a lit mag for publication. I’m going to post the days of the stories I think are good enough to move forward with, and I’d love to hear your opinions on the matter. Did I choose well? Are there ones I missed? Also, a few stories from before November have been included.

Day 1, Day 26 (second half), Day 22 (maybe), Day 20 (maybe), Day 18 (first half), Day 15/16/17 (The Reinhardt Storyline), Day 4, Twice, Interview, Full Service, The Pond

And that’s my list. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Post November Update

Hello everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to update my readers as to how things are going for me after my month of writing. First and foremost I’ve been taking a break for a few days, just letting everything sort of settle down and recharge. Work has been getting even more hectic these last few days, so it’s nice to be able to get home and just fall asleep if I’m tired, or relax and watch a movie, maybe play some video games, if I’m not.

I guess the biggest thing to note is that I’m still writing. I started a new story today, one that I will hopefully continue tomorrow. I was inspired by trying to go to the pharmacy today after work, an experience that I hope not to have to relive in the near future. So I thought I’d use that as a jumping off point for the next story. I’ll let you know if it’s coming along, and if I decide to post it or sit on it for a while.

And another thing. I am thinking of writing and polishing a story and submitting it to a lit mag or e-zine of some kind. Obviously I’m going to wait until I think I have an piece that’s good enough, but I know that the folks over at Weird Tales have recently re-opened submissions for their quarterly mag. They have a themed issue coming up that I might try to shoot for. It’s theme is “ice”. So, ice, cold, winter, desolation, those sort of themes. Arctic tundra, depths of space, meat locker in Chicago (all their examples), all are fair game. Anyone have any suggestions? Obviously I have my own, but I’m not above looking for inspiration wherever it might be found. Just curious to see what ideas someone else might have that I’d never even considered before.

Anyway, that’s a brief update from me. I’ll try to post some more fiction soon-ish, but no promises. I may also start doing some revisions of older works soon, so I’ll definitely post those when they’re done. Thanks all.
